Is God the Owner of This Universe?

I say no—this is a false claim. Your God is not the owner of this universe. God's reign does not govern this world. The true owner of this universe is Maya (illusion), and it is Maya’s rule that prevails here. Your God does not exist here. You have handed over the reign of this world to Maya. You have made Maya the ruler of this universe. This world does not belong to God, and you have failed to establish it under divine rule. You have driven God out of your world. You have made Maya the director of your existence.

If this universe belonged to God, then it would be governed by God’s principles, and the world would be full of compassion and mercy. You may now ask me, “How is this universe not God’s? How does Maya rule over it?”

I tell you, in the essence of every theory and narrative of this world, you will find Maya. Maya has become your sustainer—not because of some cosmic accident, but because of your own strategic choices in life. From the moment you are born, your guardians weave dreams for you—great hopes, through which they raise you. As soon as you begin to understand the world, those golden dreams are planted into your ears.

Then, as you grow into youth, you begin chasing those dreams, so much so that you forget that one day your life will end. You forget that you will have to leave everything behind. In the mad race for dreams, you forget the ultimate truth of life—death. This is the rule of Maya. This is where the acceptance of Maya as your sustainer begins.

If you had remembered that one day you must be defeated, that one day your life will face destruction and death, then Maya would not be your sustainer. Here, your God-given existence, full of potential, heads toward nonexistence.

You have given away your sovereignty to Maya, and you forget that behind your dreams stands a terrifying reality—death. Everything in this universe will die. All your dreams, pride, luxuries, and wealth will end in the face of this astonishing guest—death—and this is inevitable.

Mullahs, priests, monks, rich, poor, kings, subjects, sinners, saints—all will die. Yet you cling tightly to life. Everyone is fighting to survive and to become happy and prosperous. But remember—death will strike first. Death roams this world with power at all times. Yet you dream as though you will live forever in this universe.

You see creation being destroyed before your eyes—mighty kings and world leaders rise and fall. Even the greatest and most incredible things shatter into dust. Still, your dreams do not stop, because your world is ruled by Maya. Maya is your sustainer.

You all want the world to be beautiful—and so do I. But very few people are capable of making it truly beautiful. If it were truly possible to free the world from Maya’s rule, then Jesus, Krishna, Confucius, Mahavira, Buddha, Lao Tzu, Muhammad, Zoroaster—all the great souls—could have made your world divine.

They all wanted the world to be ruled by God, not by Maya. Yet you rejected them. Their only fault was that they wanted to prevent Maya from ruling over you. But you consistently chose to pledge allegiance to Maya, and you’ve built your world under her supervision.

You didn’t follow the divine path of Jesus. Instead, as Christians, you grew rich while oppressing non-Christians. You looted their wealth and ruled over them through injustice. You persecuted the weak in the name of religion.

Krishna taught you love and devotion, the spiritual play of Brahma. But what did you do? You crushed Buddhist monks with violence. Their only crime was that they followed Gautama Buddha. You labeled them atheists and unleashed cruelty upon them.

Muhammad dreamed of a peaceful world with you. He tried to unite you with the thread of Kalema (“There is no God but God”). He recited the verse "Man 'arafa nafsahu" (“He who knows himself...”), and he became a guide for your path. But what did you do? Instead of accepting Muhammad’s path, you called yourselves Muslims, and then, through conquests, you looted the wealth of non-Muslims, calling them kafirs and mushriks, justifying looting as halal spoils of war. You claimed it was halal to seize their women. But none of that would have been halal to you, and you wouldn’t have done those things, had you truly accepted the essence of Muhammad’s teaching from the beginning.

In Maya’s world, the powerful have always exploited the weak. You never gave God the sovereignty of this world. To say “God owns everything” is a lie you tell yourselves. If the world truly belonged to God, if His reign truly ruled here, then everything would be blessed and good.

The more you desire happiness, the more you invite suffering. You don’t try to understand that Maya opposes God, and she is clashing with your own higher self. To resist Maya, you must change the path of your life. Only selflessness can bring about true well-being—and only then can your world become God’s world.

Then, in this world, only God’s reign will prevail—and you all will be truly God-conscious.

—Buddha, Muhammad, Krishna
