Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (RA): His Migration and Arrival in Ajmer

Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (RA) was a great Sufi saint whose life and teachings continue to inspire millions worldwide. A significant chapter in his life was his migration (hijrat) and arrival in the city of Ajmer, India. In 1192 CE, Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (RA) arrived in Ajmer, Rajasthan, India. At that time, Ajmer was a significant city under the rule of Prithviraj Chauhan. Khwaja Sahib chose to settle near the Ana Sagar Lake, in a place now known as Chillah Khwaja Sahib. His arrival marked the beginning of a transformative spiritual movement in the region. He established a spiritual center where people from all walks of life, including kings, nobles, and common folk, gathered to learn and practice the teachings of Islam and Sufism. 

Establishment of the Dargah

Upon settling in Ajmer, Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (RA) established his spiritual center, known as a Khanqah, which later became the renowned Dargah Sharif. This shrine has become one of the most revered places for Muslims and people of other faiths alike. The Dargah is a symbol of his teachings of love, tolerance, and service to humanity. It continues to attract millions of devotees annually, who come to seek blessings and spiritual solace. 

Service and Compassion
