Does the sun of the body’s kingdom now sink into the west?

"Is the sun of your bodily kingdom setting?"

Is the sun of your bodily kingdom setting?

Are you sleeping through this world?
O man made of clay, is your time fading away?

Here, the poet refers to the physical life of every human being. With each passing day, our age increases — but in reality, the days are drawing near when this body will become lifeless. Yet we fail to feel it.

Did you ever reflect on where you came from?
And where will you go just two days later?
Who sent you, and for what purpose?
You have forgotten the promises you once made.

We have forgotten where we were before coming into this world, why Allah sent us to this earth, and what we promised Him before arriving here. Now, we live in this world without any remembrance of those things.

You were born as a human and came into this worldly life.
Your parents lovingly raised you with great care.
You passed your childhood in play and laughter.
Childhood went, then came youth — just like that, life moved on.

From birth to youth, our parents nurtured us with immense love and care. We passed through infancy, childhood, adolescence, and finally stepped into youth.

The winds of desire struck your body — your youth arrived.
Under the burden of youth, your body began to sway.
To satisfy that youth, you brought home a partner?
Did your parents find you a beautiful woman to marry?

When we entered the phase of youth, a wave of passion swept over us. That surge of energy led us to seek fulfillment, and often, parents arrange a spouse for us — a beautiful bride to share our life.

She became your wife, and you became her servant.
Drowning in waves of lust, you lost control.
Unaware of the tides and turns, you let your body drift.
Then one day, by fortune, a child was born.

That beautiful woman became your wife, and you devoted yourself to her needs — food, clothing, shelter. Caught in the storms of desire, you lost awareness of right and wrong, of time and place. Eventually, a new generation began — a child was born.

You had sons and daughters — your youth faded away.
Your body no longer had the strength it once had.
You lost everything in the river of lust, at the wrong time.
Yet you never truly accepted the certainty of death.

As your family grew with sons and daughters, your body weakened from years of labor and indulgence. The strength of youth was gone. Having wasted yourself in the tides of lust, you still refused to acknowledge the reality of death and the purpose of life.

Your Master sent you a letter — your hair began to gray.
Your beard turned white, like the blossoms of the kadam tree.
Your vision began to fade...

Finally, your Creator started sending you signs of the end. Your hair turned gray. Your beard and mustache turned white like kadam flowers. Your eyesight weakened. As days went by, the signs of death drew closer.

And then one day, you had to answer the call of the Angel of Death.

Conclusion:
In the end, you couldn't fulfill the purpose for which your Creator sent you into this world. You came and you left — but did you do the work you were meant to do? All you did was pass through life, without fulfilling its purpose.
