Hazrat Shams Tabrizi (RA) cooked meat with the heat of the sun.

 Hazrat Shams Tabrizi (RA):

He was the spiritual master and beloved guide of the world-renowned Sufi and Islamic philosopher, Hazrat Jalaluddin Rumi (RA). Shams Tabrizi (RA) was a saint of a very high spiritual rank. He used to wear coarse sackcloth and wander like a madman, intoxicated with divine love, so that people would not recognize him. He paid no heed to the formalities of Shari'ah (Islamic jurisprudence).

Unable to understand the depth of his spiritual knowledge (Ma‘rifat), the Shari'ah scholars issued a fatwa to whip and skin him. In response, Shams Tabrizi (RA) tore off all the skin from his own body and said:
“Here, take your Shari'ah. For me, having Ma‘rifat is enough.”

Then, by the power of Allah, his skin miraculously returned to its original state, intact. Allah had granted him such immense spiritual power that with just a glance, he could elevate an ordinary person to the rank of Qutb (a chief saint among the Awliya).

One day, when he asked a neighbor for fire to cook meat, the neighbor refused and beat him instead. Then Shams Tabrizi (RA) called upon the sun, and it descended to just one hand-span above his head. He then cooked the meat using the heat of the sun.

Though the intense heat of the sun threatened to burn the entire locality—its houses and people—Hazrat Shams Tabrizi (RA) himself was not harmed; not even a single hair on his hand was singed. Witnessing the screams and cries of the people, he felt compassion in his heart and ordered the sun to return to its original position. Immediately, the sun went back to where it belonged in the sky.

The sacred shrine of this great saint is located in Konya, Turkey.
Countless peace and salutations upon this exalted friend of Allah.
