"Initiation into the Spiritual Life:

His spiritual guide was Sheikh Syed Abu Shahma Muhammad Saleh Al-Qadri Lahori (RA), a descendant of Pirane Pir Dastagir Gausul Azam Mahyuddin Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA). On the other hand, his elder brother in the path of spirituality, Hazrat Shah Syed Delawar Ali Pakbaj (RA), bestowed upon him the spiritual gift of Qutubiyat.

One day, after the Zuhr (midday) prayer, Hazrat Shah Sufi Syed Abu Shahma Lahori (RA) was engaged in religious discourse with his disciples in his private room. At that moment, Hazrat Ahmad Ullah Maizbandari (K) was passing by the building on a palki (palanquin) while heading to attend an event. Hazrat Lahori (RA), who had been searching for a worthy disciple for a long time to bestow his 'Lal' (a specific spiritual level), immediately invited Hazrat Qibla (K) to meet him. Hazrat Qibla (K) prioritized this divine invitation over his scheduled event and responded positively to Hazrat Lahori's call. After warmly welcoming Hazrat Qibla (K), Hazrat Abu Shahma Muhammad Saleh Lahori (RA) gave him the initiation (Bai'at) into his spiritual path and arranged for a special feast in his honor. As the food served in abundance was gradually consumed, it seemed that Hazrat Qibla's (K) appetite was still not satisfied, and he expressed a desire for more. However, his spiritual guide, Hazrat Abu Shahma (RA), smiled gently and said, “My dear, everything in my kitchen reserved for you has already been served. For anything more, you must ‘purify it yourself’ by practicing self-discipline and striving for it.”

Through this metaphorical statement, Hazrat Abu Shahma (RA) made it clear that he had already imparted all his spiritual blessings and divine strength to Hazrat Ahmad Ullah Maizbandari (K). To attain higher levels of spiritual excellence, Hazrat Qibla (K) would have to ‘purify it himself,’ meaning that through diligent practice and spiritual struggle, he would need to earn it.

Afterward, Hazrat Syed Ahmad Ullah (K) dedicated himself to spiritual practice under the guidance of his pir (spiritual master). From this rare but significant event, we learn both about the simultaneous roles of Pir and Murid – Hazrat Abu Shahma (RA) and Hazrat Ahmad Ullah (K) – and the importance of receiving Bai'at (initiation) from a rightful and authentic Pir for success in spiritual practice. It also underscores the importance of spiritual discipline and self-effort under the supervision of a true Pir to achieve success in the spiritual world."**

This translation explains the spiritual initiation process of Hazrat Ahmad Ullah Maizbandari (K), how he received blessings from his spiritual guide Hazrat Abu Shahma (RA), and emphasizes the importance of practicing self-discipline and spiritual effort under the guidance of a true and authentic spiritual leader.
