The Questions of the Quraysh and the Prophet’s Response:
Questions About Bayt al-Maqdis:
The Quraysh challenged the Prophet (S), saying, "If you truly went there, tell us about the details of Bayt al-Maqdis."
The Prophet (S) replied, “I was in such a state that I had never been in such difficulty before. They asked me things that I had no memory of..." (Sahih Muslim)
At that moment, Allah made Bayt al-Maqdis visible to him. The Prophet (S) described everything in detail—its doors, windows, columns—everything.
Did You Meet Anyone Along the Way?
They then asked, "Did you meet anyone on the way?" The Prophet (S) answered, “I passed by a caravan whose camel had gone missing, and I told them where it was."
He also said, “They will enter Makkah on such and such a day," and this came true in reality.
Mocking the Claim of Heaven’s Journey:
The Quraysh mocked him saying, “What are you saying? You traveled from Makkah to Bayt al-Maqdis and then journeyed through the heavens all in one night?” Many of them mocked and clapped their hands in disbelief.
Abu Bakr (R.A.)’s Response:
When the Quraysh went to Abu Bakr (R.A.) and said, "Your friend claims he traveled through the heavens in one night!"
Abu Bakr (R.A.) responded: “If he said that, then he has definitely spoken the truth. I believe something even more amazing—when he says that the angel comes down to him.”
For this reason, he was given the title "As-Siddiq" (the Truthful).
(Tafseer Ma'ariful Qur'an, 5th Volume, 433; Tafseer Ibn Kathir, 13th Volume, 267)
Conclusion:
The event of Mi'raj was a monumental test of faith. Although the Quraysh tried to disprove the Prophet (S) with arguments and challenges, Allah assisted His Prophet and established the truth.
